This 1996 Corvette Grand Sport is an exquisite unmodified example of a truly special Corvette. Produced for 1996 only in the C4 generation, the Grand Sport is one of 1,000 total GS’s built in 1996. Of the 1,000, only 190 were convertibles. With 7,000 original miles, this Grand Sport is a pure and correct time capsule with documented history since day one. Sold new at City Chevrolet in Charlotte, NC, the Corvette stayed in North Carolina under the care of the firsts owner until 2002 with 4,600 miles on the clock. The car then moved to New Waterford, Ohio and stayed in the Buckeye state for the next 19 years with only 2,200 miles added to the odometer. During this time, the Grand Sport received significant recognition from the Corvette world as the car received multiple Bloomington Gold accolades. Shortly after the car was awarded, RK Motors in Carlotte, NC serviced and then offered the car for sale in 2021.
The current South Carolina owner added the C4 to his expansive Corvette collection as it was the last significant C4 on the list. With the direction of his collection changing, he has entrusted MOTORVAULT to represent this investment-grade Corvette.
