BACKDRAFT RACING
Backdraft Racing Roadster's are ordered as "turn-key minus" cars. The bodies are painted and interiors fitted as coach-built bodies in South Africa less drivetrains and various options and then shipped to Boynton Beach, FL where the heart of the vehicles are assembled by expert technicians. Using the Cobra proportions, Backdraft Roadsters are slightly enlarged to allow big and tall enthusiasts the opportunity to experience a Cobra that is not possible in an original. Once the build is completed, they are shipped within an enclosed carrier to MOTORVAULT for a thorough inspection and light presentation detailing. As part of the Concierge experience, photo shoots similar to those found on this website are available to any customer who purchases a vehicle.
Backdraft Racing Inc was founded in January of 2001 by two world-champion auto racers, Tony Marten and Reg Dodd. The company has evolved considerably over the past few years to establish itself as one of the industry leaders in producing turn key minus cars. Backdraft Roadsters are built in the Backdraft Racing 53,000sq/ft state-of-the-art facility. An all-new US head office and showroom, Backdraft Park, was opened in Boynton Beach in 2012. Backdraft are the leaders in high-quality, authentic replicas and custom-built roadsters.
If you're not familiar with Backdraft Racing, they have greatly improved the chassis and build quality surpassing most replica Cobra/Roasters within the industry. Several improvements over the previous chassis (RT3) include:
- All new components (no re-manufactured parts)
- New rear suspension design
- Upgraded differential, Ford Traction-Lock diff with a 3.55 ratio
- Rear coil over shocks

Our NEXT GENERATION RT4B BLACK EDITION features a traditional Roaster build, with our amped up, custom Black Out Package, for maximum wow factor. Because our roadsters are limited production, hand built component cars, we have a vast amount of custom options for you to choose from, like ceramic coated black side pipes and roll bars, 18” matte black coated rims and many interior options.
